The Naval Institute has also arranged to reproduce six other paintings by Mr. Hoertz as PROCEEDINGS covers in the future.
Known for his paintings of modern merchantmen and warships, as well as those of historic ships of the past, Mr. Hoertz expressed particular pleasure in having an opportunity to see his work in the PROCEEDINGS. The Forrestal painting has also been used on the cover of the special reprint of the March pictorial section on new construction and conversions, which may be purchased by Naval Institute members at the nominal price of twenty-five cotrits a copy.
