While some earlier platforms have been discontinued, we continue to share highlights of our collections and mission through select channels. Follow us to explore immigration history, ocean travel, military archives, and vintage fashion through curated posts and visual storytelling.

As a social media volunteer, you'll have the unique opportunity to participate in educational outreach at the prestigious GG Archives. Through platforms like Facebook, Pinterest, and other social media, you'll gain valuable experience in several key areas:

Content Creation: Volunteers will learn how to create engaging content tailored to different platforms. This might involve longer posts, videos, and live sessions for Facebook, while Pinterest would require attractive images and infographics. This helps develop skills in graphic design, video editing, and copywriting.

Audience Engagement: Managing social media involves interacting with followers through comments, messages, and posts. As a volunteer, you'll learn how to engage with the audience effectively, respond to feedback, and foster a community. These skills are not only crucial for educational outreach but also highly sought after in community management or customer service careers.

Digital Marketing: Volunteers will gain insights into the basics of digital marketing, including strategies to increase post visibility, understanding analytics to gauge the success of different types of content, and learning how to optimize posts for better engagement and reach.

Project Management: Running a social media campaign requires planning, scheduling, and coordinating various tasks. Volunteers will develop project management skills, learning to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

Volunteering in this capacity offers a hands-on approach to learning about social media management. It provides practical skills and experiences that are not only valuable in educational outreach, but also highly applicable in many professional roles in communications, marketing, and media. This experience will equip you with the confidence and skills needed to excel in your future career.
