Life In The Naval Receiving Station Of The U S. Naval Training and Distribution Center - Shoemaker, California. When a new unit now rapidly nearing completion is in operation, the Receiving Station will provide facilities for approximately 30,000 transient personnel. Activities include: three mess halls each with capacity of 10,000 per meal; two theaters with seating capacity of 2,000 each and two with seating capacity of 1,000 each.
