GENERAL INFORMATION
Docks. Steamers from New York sail from Piers 53, 54 or 56 North River, foot of West 14th St., N. Y. City.
Steamers in Boston-Liverpool service sail from Cunard Pier near the South Ferry, and the Terminus of Tunnel East Boston. Take Jeffries Point Car.
Steamers in Canadian service sail from Berth 12, Jacques Cartier Pier, or Berth 6, Alexandra Pier, Montreal; or Pier 7, Grand Trunk Wharf, Portland.
Steamers in Halifax Service sail from Government Piers, Deep Water Terminus.
Conditions of Transportation.—The attention of passengers is specially directed to the conditions of transportation as set forth on the steamer ticket.
Passports.—British Government requires that all passengers arriving in or departing from Great Britain must hold passport issued by his or her Government not more than two years previously, and properly visaed within 30 days of departure of steamer, to which passport holder's photograph must be attached.
It is now absolutely necessary that all Passports, Emergency Certificates, or Identification Papers, of passengers traveling from New York to Great Britain, be visaed at the British Consulate General, Whitehall St Entrance, South Ferry Bldg., 1 State St., New York.
Special Transportation.—All special transportation in Great Britain and Ireland heretofore granted in connection with ocean passage is abolished.
U. S. Head Tax of $8.00 additional for all aliens booked to the U. S. Saloon, Cabin or Third Class except on children under 16 years of age who accompany their father or their mother.
CUNARD DRAFTS.—MONEY ORDERS, MAIL OR CABLE, to Great Britain, Ireland, Scandinavia, Italy. Convenient—Reliable. Low rates.
Deck Chairs.—These can be rented on board through the Deck Steward at a cost of one dollar for the voyage.
Steamer Rug Service.— Rugs may be rented of the Deck Steward at $1 .00 per trip. Attention is called to the fact that they are contained in sealed card-board boxes, from which they should be removed in the presence of the passenger. This is an assurance that they have not been used since being cleaned. The rugs have a serial number, rendering identification easy.
Dogs. Passengers are notified that dogs cannot be landed in Great Britain unless a license has previously been procured from the Board of Agriculture, London. License must be obtained, before the dog is taken on board, by direct application to the Board. The charge for transportation ranges from $10 up according to size.
Baggage.-Saloon and Cabin Passengers arc allowed 20 cubic feet of baggage (equal to two medium sized trunks) for each adult, and Third Class 10 cubic feet; excess being charged for at the rate of 25 cents per cubic foot. Baggage should be marked "Wanted" or "Not Wanted during the Voyage" and checked or sent to Pier at port of embarkation (see paragraph "Docks"), where it must be claimed by the passenger before going on board.
Packages or trunks required on the voyage should not exceed 14 inches in height, 2 feet in width, and 3 feet 8 inches in length. Packages of merchandise are not allowed to be shipped with or as baggage. Baggage tags are supplied by us.
Baggage Insurance.- Passengers are recommended to insure their baggage as in the event of loss or damage the Company cannot accept liability beyond the limit specified on the Steamer Contract Ticket. .Rates and full particulars on application.
