Vintage Postcards - Ravnkloa - Trondheim, Norway
Ravnkloa (previously called Ravnkloen), is the name of Trondheim's most successful commons. Square lies at the end of Munkegata between Olav Tryggvason street and canal, on the line between the cathedral and Munkholmen. Ravnkloa Trondheim's center for trade in fish and shellfish.
Ravnkloen (Fisketorvet) or fish square Ravnkloa: Fishing boats snugly docked in the background. State Engineering Dahl port and railway viewable on the other side of the canal. Meråkerbanen (left) was inaugurated in 1882. A swingbridge between Meråkerbanen and Støren- / Rørosbanen opened due to more substantial boat traffic.
