Front Side, The RMS Queen Mary Postcard, ca January 1935. No. 534. The World's Largest Liner. This sketch, especially drawn to scale for "The Daily Telegraph" by Mr. J. Macpherson, shows how the new Cunard liner, 534, will compare with the Houses of Parliament when she is finished. The height of the Victoria Tower from the top of the mast to the ground is 420 ft.; the 534, from masthead to water-line, will measure 250 ft.; the ship's length will be 1,018 ft., against the Houses' 940 ft. From the top of the vessel's funnels to the water line, it will measure 130 ft. The new liner will have a tonnage of 75,000 and a speed exceeding 30 knots, making her the world's largest and latest ship. She will carry 5,000 passengers. GGA Image ID # 1f3536b5cb
