OCEANIC STEAMSHIP COMPANY

(United States)

The Oceanic Steamship Company, also known as the Spreckles Line, was established in 1878. Service was provided between San Francisco and Sydney, Australia, via Honolulu. The Matson Navigation Company acquired control of the line in 1926. However, the Matson Line continued operating the company as a subsidiary under its original name. Included, also, are the Matson Line ships built for this particular service.
