Cunard Line – RMS Aquitania

Cabin Passenger List
Southampton to New York via Cherbourg
25 June 1921

This passenger list was issued for the RMS Aquitania on her transatlantic voyage of 25 June 1921, sailing from Southampton to New York with a call at Cherbourg. The ship was under the command of Captain Sir James Charles, K.B.E., C.B., R.D., R.N.R.

The front cover is especially ornate and rare, featuring a purple background with gold lettering and a multi-colored border design. In the artwork, the Aquitania looms in the background, with a smaller vessel in the foreground—a striking image of Cunard’s flagship. The back cover is plain, and this copy contains no passenger annotations, preserving its original elegance.

The interior includes a wide array of traveler information: meal times, seating, baggage handling, library and telegraph services, customs guidance, and even notices on professional gamblers. A detailed orchestra schedule, Cunard’s record passages at sea, and a list of services and associated companies reflect the line’s global reach. Also included are lists of Saloon and Second Class passengers, along with agents and offices worldwide.

Among the notable travelers were members of elite American and European society: Mr. & Mrs. William E. Carter, Mr. George D. Widener, Jr., Mrs. Jessie Widener, Mr. T. D. Armour, Mr. J. W. Studebaker, Mr. John C. Osgood, Sir Edward Mackay Edgar (1st Baronet), Prof. G. H. Huntington, and Prof. Salvador Mass, alongside financiers, professors, and prominent social figures.
