📸 Archival Images (Raw Scans)
A raw scan is an unedited, unprocessed digital file produced directly by a scanner. Unlike a standard scan that automatically corrects and compresses the image, a raw scan captures the maximum amount of data, similar to a digital negative from a camera.

Key characteristics of a raw scan
Unprocessed: Raw scans do not have any automatic adjustments applied by the scanning software, such as color correction, sharpening, or rotation.
Archival quality: Because they contain the most original data, raw scans are ideal for creating a permanent, high-quality digital archive of your original film, artwork, or documents.
Maximum detail: A raw scan retains all the information that the scanner's sensor captured, including a wider dynamic and color range than a processed image like a JPEG.
No compression: The file is not compressed, or is compressed using a lossless method, to preserve all image data without degradation.
Ideal for editing: This format provides much greater flexibility for manual editing in software like Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom. Photographers and artists can make precise, non-destructive adjustments to exposure, white balance, and contrast.
