This telegram has been typed out in the style of a letter without any of the traditional markings of a telegram. It is a copy of the farewell telegram sent to the members of the ARMCO Ambulance Corps, in care of Captain Newman Ebersole, aboard the French Line Steamship "Tourraine" [SS La Touraine], just before sailing from New York on August 7, 1917.

In it, Verity praises the members of the Ambulance Corps for the service upon which they are about to embark and reminds them of all the good wishes and unending support of their family of ARMCO coworkers back home.

This telegram is a mimeographed reproduction. The original content of the telegram was typed out and copied by ARMCO. Copies of this and other correspondence were then generally distributed to friends and family members of the ARMCO Ambulance Corps and to ARMCO employees. Date August 6, 1917.
