SS America Vintage Menu Collection
Vintage menus for the SS America in the GG Archives collection represent the souvenir breakfast, luncheon, dinner, daily, private party, special occasion, and specialty menus provided to the passengers during their voyage. Many of these souvenir menus have disappeared over the years.

1954-08-10 SS America Captain's Dinner Menu
Large Format Vintage Captain's Dinner Menu from Tuesday, 10 August 1954 on board the SS America of the United States lines featured Lobster à la Newburg, Grilled Choice T-Bone Steak, Sauce Bercy, and Compote: Preserved Black Bing Cherries for dessert. The Menu includes autographs and statements by the guests.

1961-01-15 SS America Luncheon Menu Card
Vintage Luncheon Menu Card from Sunday, 15 January 1961, on board the SS America of the United States Lines Featured Boiled Corned Beef with Cabbage, Broiled Loin Lamb Chops Charcutière, and Blueberry Pie for Dessert.
Our collection contains a sampling of menus initially produced and printed by the steamship lines. They are often used to illustrate family history books for immigrants from this time.
