Built by Akt. Ges. "Vulkan," Stettin, Germany. Tonnage: 8,235. Dimensions: 439' x 56'. Twin-screw, 13 1/2 knots. Triple expansion engines. Two masts and one funnel. Passengers: 120 first, 80 third, 1,450 steerage. Renamed: Bage (1917) Brazilian. Sister ships: Sierra Cordoba, Sierra Salvada, and Sierra Ventana.

North German Lloyd.—Sierra Nevada (and three sister ships). Dimensions, 139 x 17 X 11J meters. 4,000 H.P. 8,500 tons. Average speed, 13 1/2 knots. Crew numbers 170. The vessel carries 120 1st class, 80 3rd class, and 1,450 steerage passengers. The time from Lisbon-Madeira to Rio is about 15 days—comfortable, well-found steamers. Sierra Nevada (1922) North German Lloyd

Built by Vulkan Werke, Stettin, Germany. Tonnage: 8,753. Dimensions: 439' x 56'. Twin-screw, 14 knots. Triple expansion engines. Two masts and two funnels. Maiden voyage: Bremen-New York in September 1922. Other Service: Transferred to South American service. Renamed: Madrid (1926). Purchased by Hamburg-South American Line in 1934. Fate: Sunk off Den Helder by air attack, December 9, 1941.
